Johann Sebastian Bach’s profound and magnificent Mass in B Minor is the summation and culmination of a life’s work. The Resonance Chamber Orchestra, Festival Chorus, and an impressive cast of soloists bring this magnum opus to three inspiring spiritual spaces across the Pittsburgh region—a fitting and triumphant note to close this tenth anniversary season and welcome Resonance Works’ future.

In the Press:
Unlike all of Bach’s previous sacred works, the B-Minor Mass was not written for the urgency of an impending performance, but instead was the creation of a spiritual testament that became his ultimate legacy. It is the masterful assemblage of earlier works, transformed pieces, and newly composed movements written across a quarter-century, and likely among the final compositions of his life.
Our performances of this astonishing masterwork bring together more than the usual number of soloists, with alums from throughout our history including sopranos Katy Shackleton Williams, Charlene Canty, Amelia D’Arcy, and Lara Lynn McGill, mezzo-sopranos Timothi Williams and Thespina Christulides, tenor Javier Abreu, and bass-baritone Matt Scollin. Join us in Fox Chapel, Coraopolis, or Oakland for a majestic musical experience!

Venue Accessibility
Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church (Friday)
Entrance Option #1: There is a side entrance, just off Field Club Road before turning into the main parking lot, which will allow you to enter just outside the sanctuary. This is entirely flat, there are several accessible spots outside, and is the shortest route.
Entrance Option #2: If the spots above are taken, park in one of the accessible spots in the main parking lot (accessed from Field Club Road), enter through the doors facing the parking lot (we'll have a sandwich board outside), and proceed mostly straight, following the signs for the sanctuary. You'll pass through an atrium: the sanctuary entrance will be directly ahead of you. There are several inclines along the way.
Seating: If you'll be using a wheelchair, once in the venue you can either place it at the end of a pew in the center aisle, or there are four shorter pews about 2/3rds of the way up, where you can pull in next to the pew on the left or right of the space.
Coraopolis United Methodist Church (Saturday)
Entrance: Park in one of the accessible spots in the main lot, preferring those to the left as you face the church. The accessible entrance is through the side entrance at the front of the sanctuary. From the parking lot, follow the sidewalk on the left side of the church around the corner of the building, and enter the sanctuary through the first door on your right. There is one incline. From there, you or a member of your party can reach the back of the sanctuary to check in or purchase tickets.
Seating: If you will be enjoying the performance from a wheelchair, you are able to sit in the center aisle adjacent to a pew: this location does not have any short pews or cutouts, but the center aisle is quite wide.
Heinz Memorial Chapel (Sunday)
Entrance: There are two accessible parking spaces immediately adjacent to Heinz Chapel, directly off of Bellefield Avenue. There are also some accessible spaces in street parking along Bellefield. The accessible entrance is at the front of the sanctuary, on the corner of the building closest to Fifth & Bellefield, and very close to the two accessible parking spaces. Enter through the red door (which is a bit of a stiff pull), take the elevator up one level, and proceed straight, into the front of the sanctuary. You or your party can check in or buy tickets at the back of the sanctuary, which is easily reachable at that point.
Seating: If you will be enjoying the performance from a wheelchair, you are able to sit in the center or side aisles adjacent to a pew: this venue does not have any short pews or cutouts.
If you have further questions about accessibility, please do not hesitate to contact Brennan Sellner at brennan@resworks.org or 412-501-3330 (please note that this is an office number, and cannot receive texts).
